“Tap early, tap often.”
As often as I say it, I admit that I don’t always follow my own advice. Tap early, so you don’t have to sit out for any extended period.
This week, I rolled with a friend that I hadn’t rolled with for some time. And he surprised me with an armlock from bottom that I thought I could get out of. I couldn’t, but my stubbornness meant I was stuck a bit longer than necessary. Luckily for me, my friend is compassionate and gave me a second chance to surrender. I did, but it was too late… I expect to be on an ibuprofen regimen for the next few days.
This was a good reminder that if I’m going to be a good teacher, I have to be a good example.
