I’m Alex Lam, a black belt under Ryron Gracie and Rener Gracie. My main instructor at Gracie University is Alex Stuart, who guides me in group classes and private lessons. If you train there, you may know me as your favorite training partner. 😁
I’ve been teaching jiu-jitsu for over ten years. These days, I’m on the mat six days at week at my school, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu La Palma, in Southern California.
Before that, I taught in La Puente and San Dimas from 2012 to 2022.
I started this newsletter to share ideas that come up through teaching, training, and trying to stay in the art for life. It’s read by students, instructors, parents, and school owners.
What it’s about
This isn’t a technique blog. It’s not about drama, rankings, or tournament recaps.
Jiu-Jitsu Letter is for people who:
- Want to stay injury-free and have fun on the mat
- Want to train smarter and teach better
- Think jiu-jitsu is something to do for a lifetime
If that’s you, you can subscribe for free here: https://jiujitsuletter.com/newsletter/.
