Train Forever Formula

To train forever:

Find a school that suits you. Go to one school for twenty classes. After twenty, you should know if it’s right for you. If you’re not sure, stay for a few more classes. Still not sure? Check out another school. You can always come back. You can always continue searching.1

When you find the right school, train consistently. It can be once a week, twice a week, maybe three times a week. That’s enough.2

Have fun. If you’re having fun, you’ll keep going. If you keep going, you’ll get good. If you get good, it’s more fun. And the cycle repeats. Just keep the plateau in mind, and keep going.

  1. I’d argue it’s better to train with a friend at home than to enroll at the wrong school. Your progress may be slow, but at least you’re training. If you’re at the wrong school, you’re going to quit forever after a few months. ↩︎

  2. Obviously, if your goal is to compete at the highest levels, this advice is not for you. ↩︎
