Last weekend was my tenth year of attending at least one Gracie Instructor Certification Program (ICP) seminar. I got certified to teach in 2012 and have been to at least one every year.¹

I’m about a month away from opening my own school. So this year, I spent a bunch of time with successful school owners to learn best practices and I’m surprised by how much I didn’t know. Regarding operations, I’m back at the beginner stage. I knew there was a lot to learn, but there were and still are plenty of unknown unknowns.

At least I’m good at teaching, so I’ve got half the job down.
