Skip It (For Now)

It’s OK to skip the parts you don’t like.

Because you have to enjoy the process to continue the process. And if you continue long enough, you’ll be better. And when you’re better, you’ll be able to tolerate the parts you don’t like. And after a while of that, you’ll get better at what you don’t like, and you’ll start to like it.1

  1. This advice was offered to me as I finished college. The advisor was a successful real estate investor who said I should buy property. I countered by saying I don’t know anything about investing and I think I’d hate it. (My father owned rental properties, and it looked to me like a big hassle.) The advisor told me, when you start to make money, you’ll learn to like it. ↩︎
